Welcome to Mrs. Armstrong and Mrs. Olson's Page

2010 - Let's celebrate in Kindergarten!

Welcome!

This has been a great year in Kindergarten!  We are learning so much. We are such a smart class. The 3rd quarter ends next week. The students have done very well. Keep reading at home, working on sight words , recognizing numbers 0-30 and addresses.  We hope you are receiving our weekly newsletters and the kindergarten newsletter. They are filled with lots of information that you need to be aware of. Report cards will be sent home March 22. Please return the envelope and the signed white card.

Among the many activities we have done, we have been measuring the growth of "Mary." She is an amaryllis plant but ,so far, has not sprouted a flower. This has been a good plant and measurement unit.

March is Math Madness month and the students need to know the name and value of the coins, including the dollar bill. Dr. Thomas will be "testing" each student and gives them a special sticker for their success. We are also making fair trades with pennies , nickels and dimes.

We are looking forward to Spring and the fun things we will learn about this season. We will be learning (and feeling) about bugs. We will grow butterflies and release them. We will be going to the Zoo the end of April. We love learning about animals and are so excited about seeing them.

Our character word of the month is Self-control. Wouldn't it be nice if the entire class won this?!! THey certainly do qualify!  Unless spring fever hits! Parents, please look over your child's folder and sign the bahavior sheet. Be aware of the weather and send them with appropriate clothing - with names in them!  Absent children must return with a written excuse.

We enjoy having you visit and thank-you for all you do with your very special child!

Love, Mrs. Armstrong, Mrs. Olson and Mrs. Cooper
