October is a very busy month at Sedalia Park. In between field trips, including the school-wide field trip, and testing we still have things to learn in the Media Center.
K and first will continue to go over character, setting, and plot in stories.
2nd, 3rd, and 4th will have the opportunity to use the 25 brand new Scholastic dictionaries. They will also learn several websites for dictionaries. These can also be used at home. The Britannica site has a way for the students to hear to word pronounced correctly. Go to http://www.cobbk12.org and have your student show you!
5th will learn the difference between primary and secondary reference sources.
We have begun to get ready for the November Pickle Patch Book Fair. Start saving your pennies for the book fair. Let Susanne Muckerman know if you are able to help on the bus.
Volunteer time may also be used for helping shelve books in the Media Center. Our students are turning in an average of 400-700 books each day.
